portfolio review day!

this is my fashion portfolio, lifestyle catalog fashion
lifestyle photography has always inspired me. looking at work like jeremy and clara weiss’, urban outfitters, and american eagle ads, i saw everything i loved: summer, color, and people that looked like they could be my friends. i wanted to make a portfolio like that.
i feel that i spent my time exploring my style in my boudoir portfolio and really found my style in my fashion work (which i shot the last 10 weeks of school). it was crazy, but i couldn’t be happier with the way it came out.

this is my portraiture portfolio, mainly boudoir.
a mom that i used to babysit for asked if i’d shoot boudoir for her and i didnt know what it meant, she filled me in and i thought it could be fun? so i tried it out. i did love pin up and stuff like that so why not. i discovered how fun and how hard boudoir photography was that day. styling, lighting, location, even taking a flattering photo was hard.
after the shoot i looked into more boudoir photography and i hated what i saw- overly retouched skin, low angles, paisley backgrounds. i wanted to explore it myself so i spent 30 weeks doing just that
